Recruitment strategies:

Team members were identified by their expertise, experience, influence and Washington State leadership role in employment for state’s labor force with developmental disabilities.

Goals and Objectives:

The Washington State AFP committee will establish and monitor the state’s benchmarks and data pertinent to the national AFP challenge.

Accomplishments:

The Washington State AFP team’s initial meeting was conducted on November 9, 2009. After discussion and review of the data, the team agreed on a definition of the benchmark data to be collected and measured on a quarterly basis. The team agreed that the data sets would be:
1) Total Number of clients receiving employment and day program services from Washington State Division of Developmental Disabilities.
2) Total number and % reporting wages in any type of employment or day service.
3) Total number and % reporting wages in Individual Employment (individual community jobs).
The first set of benchmark data available for the most recent quarter -January through March of 2009 - was reviewed. In December of 2009, the quarterly data from Employment Security became available for the next quarter, April, May and June of 2009. Both sets of data are displayed on accompanying Excel file.
