During their first team meeting in November 2009, the Missouri AFP team noted that while it will be necessary to address systematic barriers to employment, it is also necessary to educate and influence employers. The person-centered perspective needs to be utilized when looking at employment for persons with disabilities. While acknowledging that the AFP agenda and corresponding activities cannot "fix" all the issues, the AFP team can help move the system forward and identify the challenges that need to be addressed.
