Recruitment strategies: Flyers were sent out via email to invite key players from various organizations. Follow up with personal phone calls from those who had personal/professional connections. Brainstormed with members to determine who was not at the table but should be.
Goals and Objectives: This quarter was spent informing others about what AFP is and what goals have been set. Discussed the National Vision and how it related to Missouri. Brainstormed next steps for the MO State Team and created a list of perceived barriers for next quarter's discussion on development of a strategic plan.
Accomplishments: Meeting was held on November 10, 2009. 9 new members were present.
Challenges: It has been a challenge to get the same people to the meetings. We have held 2 meetings and have had a different group attend each one. We continue to struggle with a direction and commitment from the group. Next meeting will address commitment and development of strategic direction.
How can national AFP assist your state's team?
- Assistance with developing a website would be very helpful. Also, would like to see what national has listed as the current rate of employment for Missouri.
- Continued training opportunities
- Guidance on whether we are headed in the right direction or not. Possible a quarterly conference call would be helpful.
